Frequently Asked Questions

What is holistic physical therapy?

Holistic physical therapy treats the body, while also encouraging the mind and soul to BE in your health journey. We were designed to BE present, not distracted; to BE dynamic, even in the stillness. We offer traditional physical therapy interventions to evaluate and treat even the most complex health patterns using a variety of manual therapy skills to foster healing and functional return across all body systems.

What should I expect on my first visit?

On your first visit, please bring your completed patient agreement form and intake form. Utilizing a holistic approach, a full-body evaluation will be completed, regardless of the diagnosis. This will ensure we are listening to the whole body chain to better determine the area(s) of need. Visual scanning, general listening, range of motion measurements, and functional strength testing are just a few ways this will be done. Upon completion, you will be able to share your health concerns to further enhance the evaluation process. Together, a course of treatment will be prescribed to assist you on your wellness journey.

Follow-up treatment sessions will follow a similar sequence.

What should I bring to my first appointment?

Please download the new patient forms and bring them completed to your first visit.  Wear comfortable, fitting clothing as many of the techniques require skin contact to most accurately assess and treat areas of restriction. A water bottle is encouraged in order to maintain healthy hydration.

How often should I schedule a treatment?

An initial evaluation will be 1 hour and 15 minutes long. This will allow additional time to create a personalized plan for your health process. Follow-up visits will be scheduled for 1 hour.

Because your health journey is individualized to you, the frequency of treatment is not set in stone. However, due to the nature of our treatment techniques, your body will require time to integrate the changes made during your treatment. The recommended time for integration is 1-2 weeks. As you experience changes, the frequency may be reduced to weekly or increased to monthly as needed. As you journey through improving your health, we will help and encourage you to listen to your body's cues to determine the best course of action for your healing.

Open communication is highly encouraged. Limited resources should never keep you from receiving the support you need.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept cash, check, and Zelle payments at this time. A receipt will be provided for your records. The fee schedule is located on the financial agreement form.

Do you take insurance?

In order to provide the individualized care options we offer that use evidence-based and specialized interventions, we do not work with insurance companies or Medicare.  This is because of the limitations placed on how services are to be delivered and the frequency allowed, which is dependent on the diagnoses rather than progress made. Often times, insurance/Medicare limits treatment to specific injury sites, which is counterintuitive to a whole body/systems approach to health and wellness expected at Simple to BE.

What is your scheduling & cancellation policy?

Self-scheduling is highly encouraged once you have created a patient profile. You will receive a confirmation notification as well as a reminder of your upcoming appointment. In the event you need to cancel, please do so through the scheduling application, or you may text/call Suzanne directly. A late cancellation fee may be charged for any visit cancelled less than 24 hours in advance.

What ages do you treat?

We treat people of all ages, even in the womb.
